   Intro

Have you ever dreamed of playing college basketball? Do you know what it is like to be a part of a team?    March Madness is coming!  You guessed it!  It will be a final countdown to the best college basketball team in the USA!
    You will be going on a scavenger hunt.  Not everyone is familiar with the 64 teams involved in March Madness.  We need your help to gather some facts about teams participating in the tournament.  As a group you will discover new characteristics that makes up the teams in various regions.  Are all a teams alike?

Task-
    You will work in groups of four and locate different items from the various teams. Within each team hunters will focus on one region out of four.  (Southeast, East, Midwest, and West)
 
 


 
 
 

Process-
    You will form a scavenger team of four.
                            Each group will be responsible to uncover the following: 
      three mascots
    four cities where they play
    four arena capacities
    five players that have "d" in their names
     tallest players in two teams
    highest scorer  for two teams
     Final product:
Make a power point presentation on the findings from hunt.
Hunt results should be placed on individual slides

Evaluation-
You will be graded as a group and as an individual.  These grades will be separate and based on different criteria.

Group members will be graded individually on:
the completeness of his/her assigned job
the cooperatives of the individual within the group
 
 

The group will also get a grade based on:

Conclusion:
Have you completed all your tasks?  Do we now know what it's like to be part of college basketball team?  Throughout this web quest we have made many connections to a variety of skills.  Such as- research,  inquiry based skills, geography skills, and working in cooperative groups .  Hope the hunt didn't make you too mad!
