5. Chairman of Symposium Committee: As chairman played
a major role in organizing a symposium entitled "Japanese
Productivity: Lessons for America" at Union College on April
30-May l, l982. This interdisciplinary conference focused especially
on the managerial sources of Japanese productivity; it was sponsored
by the Social Science Division of Union College with the support
of the Schenectady County Chamber of Commerce. The six speakers
included Ezra Vogel and A.V. Feigenbaum.

organizing activities in the Troy City area). UUM employs a staff

2. Chairman and cofounder of the Community Reinvestment Committee
(CRC). The CRC is a coalition of people concerned with the role
of financial and housing market institutions in the decline of
housing conditions in the river wards of Troy. A major accomplishment
of the CRC was to obtain an agreement from the four savings banks
in Troy to increase their lending commitment to the older areas
of Troy. The CRC has played an active role in the development
of the Residential Loan Program sponsored by the Urban Development
Action Grant from H.U.D. (July l977-July l980).
3. Representative of Sycaway neighborhood on Citizen's Forum,
a group which advises the Troy City Council on spending its Community
Development Block Grant Funds (August l975-August l977).
