Lycopodium obscurum

The beauty and longevity of this species makes it very desirable to use it for making Christmas wreaths, unfortunately. Spores are used in toilet powders, coatings for pills, in certain kinds of fireworks. The first photographic cameras used Lycopodium spores as flash powders. Lycopodium is difficult to grow in the green house and should not be collected.
