
Plasmopara viticolor
Plasmopara viticolor is a downy mildew. Conidio- phores are branched with a conidium at each branch end. Only caused minor damage to American species of grape but highly virulent in Europe. The fungus was responsible for the decline of the wine industry in France in the 19th century.
