Admission Requirements

Bachelor degree

33 credits (11 three-credit courses)

Includes:
3 credits in Research plus major paper
18 credits in School Building Leadership and 100 hours of course related leadership activities
6 credits Internship seminar plus a leadership experience of 15 weeks fulltime or 30 weeks parttime.

 

Professional Diploma (PD) (for those possessing a master degree)

Admission Requirements

Master Degree
18 education credits or appropriate experience
3 years teaching or pupil personnel service
Provisional/Initial or Permanent/Prof certification or equivalent
A completed Application for Admission to Graduate School submitted to Admissions Office with written statement of intent, professional recommendation, documentation
Interview
100 hours of course related leadership activities

CATHOLIC SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR PROGRAM
Serving Catholic School
educators since the mid-70's, the Catholic School Administrator Program (CSAP) focuses on issues related to Catholic identity, mission, community, service, and academic excellence. Nationally known speakers have participated in the Institute in Catholic Identity. Courses have been arranged to accommodate the specific and unique needs of sponsoring Arch/Dioceses and have been conducted at a convenient location in the Arch/Diocese. Scholarship: Manhattan College offers a one credit scholarship for Catholic school educators.

 

NonPublic School Administrator Scholarship through NCLB

Title IIA of No Child Left Behind provides total scholarships for nonpublic school educators in the five boroughs of NYC. Application for the grant takes place through the New York City Department of Education, Title IIA Coordinator. Once approved for Title IIA funds, the applicant must meet the Admission Requirements of the Graduate School of Education at Manhattan College.
