College Mourns Loss of Two Former Board Members

Martin H. Schmidt Jr. '51, a former member and chair of the board of trustees at Manhattan College, honorary degree recipient and business leader, died on July 29 at the age of 85. Read more.

 

Muriel "Mickie" Siebert, a woman of many firsts in the business world, including becoming the first female member of the New York Stock Exchange, and a former member of Manhattan College's board of trustees, died on Aug. 24. Read more.

The Washington, D.C. alumni club invites Jaspers to watch the Nationals take on the Phillies. Game time is 1:35 p.m. and tickets can be picked up prior to the game at the will-call window. Yankees vs. Rays

Wednesday, Sept. 25

Join Manhattan College on the Malibu Rooftop Deck as the Yankees, in the heat of the wild card race, take on the Tampa Bay Rays and enjoy a private pregame reception with fellow Jaspers. The cost of the event is $45 per person and includes admission to the park, seating in section 406, access to the Malibu Rooftop Deck and all food and non-alcoholic beverages. The pregame reception will take place from 5 - 6:30 p.m., after which time the Rooftop Deck will be open to the public and complimentary food and beverages will no longer be available. 34th Annual America's Cup Sailboat Race

San Francisco area Jaspers are invited to watch two of the final races of America's Cup! Admission to the Marina Green is free, and there is no charge to watch the races while standing. For those who prefer not to stand, a number of tickets are available for the west grandstand on the Marina Green. Tickets are $75 each and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are expected to sell out long before race day, so don't miss this great opportunity to watch the races.

 

The first race begins at 1:10 p.m., and the second race begins at 2:10 p.m. There will be plenty of pre-and post-race events to see and enjoy.

22nd Annual Businessmen's Retreat

The Manhattan College Alumni Society will begin the 2013-14 academic year with its first meeting on Saturday, Sept. 21. The meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Chancellor's Room in Memorial Hall.

Mentors Urgently Needed

Manhattan College holds a great pride in alumni support for our highly succesful Mentor Program with more than 160 students participating in the program last year. We now have more than 200 students willing and eager to learn from alumni about various career paths but the Center for Career Development (CCD) has only heard from about 50 volunteers. We are in need of 150 mentors! Please join us in supporting our bright, talented and passionate students by becoming a mentor. To apply, please complete and submit the sign-up form.

 

 

 

Represent Your Class

The Alumni office is seeking representatives from all graduation years to help maintain and strengthen each class' connection to the College. By serving as a volunteer, you can encourage event participation, increase alumni knowledge and enthusiasm for alma mater, and assist with efforts to bolster support for the class gift program. Additionally, alumni celebrating an anniversary are invited to take part in helping organize Reunion Weekend. For next year's reunion celebration, Jaspers from years ending in -4 or -9 are welcome to assist with planning weekend activities. We'd love your help!
