St. Patrick's Day EventsParade

 

President to Speak at Westchester Friendly Sons Dinner

President Brennan O’Donnell will join the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in the County of Westchester as keynote speaker at their 59th annual dinner on Thursday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, NY. The Society has a longstanding tradition of Jaspers counted amongst its membership and current leadership includes Matt McCrosson ’72, president, and James Landy ’76, chairman of the board of stewards. Long Island St. Patrick's Day Luncheon

On Thursday, March 14 at 12 p.m., join fellow Jaspers for a wonderful afternoon of reminiscing, meeting and greeting, and networking at the annual Long Island St. Patrick's Day Luncheon, hosted by Tom Connolly '58. The luncheon will be held at The Inn at New Hyde Park (214 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY). The cost of the event is $35 and includes traditional Irish fare. Washington, D.C. St. Patrick's Day Alumni Reception

Join the College and alumni hosts Tony Kavanagh ’82 and Elli Nesbitt ’81 for an after-work gathering at James Hoban’s Irish Restaurant & Bar (1 Dupont Circle NW, Washington D.C.) on Thursday, March 14 from 6 - 9 p.m. The event is $30 per person and includes a selection of hors d'oeuvres and finger foods, as well as two drink tickets. NYC Pre-Parade Breakfast
On Saturday, March 16, join us for a special breakfast reception at Club Quarters Hotel (40 W. 45th St., between Fifth & Sixth avenues, New York, NY) from 10 - 11:30 a.m. before the parade steps off. Alumni and friends are welcome to attend for $35 per person and we are happy to offer a special student price of $20 per person. REGISTER»

 

NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade
All alumni, family and friends are invited to march in the largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world led by the Manhattan College Pipes and Drums and the Gaelic Society. Assembly will begin at 11:15 a.m. on West 45th St. between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Step off is around 12 p.m., and Manhattan will be the first group on the block. Marchers are required to purchase a sash available at the line of march for $5 from the Gaelic Society. For general information about the parade, visit nycstpatricksparade.org

MAAC Basketball Tournament

The 2013 MAAC Championships will take place from March 7 - 11 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. A limited number of tickets behind the bench at the first men's basketball game are available for $30 and may be purchased through the College's Athletic department. On Sunday, March 10, join the College for a pre-luncheon reception at 11:30 a.m. at the home of Jim Connors '57 (3440 Lakemont Dr., Bonita Springs, FL.). A brunch buffet will follow at 1 p.m. at Pelican Nest Golf Club (4450 Pelicans Nest Dr., Bonita Springs, FL). The cost for this event is $25 per person and advance registration is required. The Villages Alumni Reception

Pre-Parade Gathering (Naples/Bonita Springs)

The gathering will be held on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. and a $20 donation to support this event will be collected at Jim's home. St. Patrick's Day Parade (Naples)
Come march with other Jaspers in the 35th Naples St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 16. The group will meet at St. Ann's Church (475 9th Ave. S, Naples, FL) at 10:30 a.m. and step off at 11 a.m. A private reception at the Cove Yacht Club (900 Broad Ave. S, Naples, FL) will be held immediately following the parade. Alumni Lunch at the Culinary Institute of America (N. California)
Napa Valley and Bay Area alumni are invited to join hosts Steve Laruccia '67 and Steve Burchik '67 for an afternoon lunch at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone (2555 Main St., St. Helena, CA) on Saturday, March 23 at 12:30 p.m. Space is limited for this unique event. NYPD Deputy Chief Beltran on Law Enforcement Technology

On Tuesday, April 9, alumni are invited to attend this special presentation featuring Deputy Chief Ruben Beltran, Executive Officer, Office of Information Technology of the New York Police Department. Deputy Beltran has served in the Management Information Systems Division, Office of the Police Commissioner and Real Time Crime Center and will speak about the department's technological advances and practical applications for policing New York City. The presentation, sponsored by the Manhattan College Latino Alumni Club and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, will begin at 6 p.m. in the Scala Academy Room, located on campus in the Leo Engineering Building. A networking reception for student and alumni attendees will follow the presentation.

Scholarship Reception

Bergen County Alumni Reception
Join alumni host George Skau ’59 for his annual dinner reception at Ramsey Country Club (105 Lakeside Dr., Ramsey, NJ) on Wednesday, April 24 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Steve Masiello, head coach of the men’s basketball team will be in attendance to speak about the season.
