This week's photo is from Manhattan College Day (January 23, 2003). In honor of Manhattan's 150th Anniversary, The Met-Life Tower, Con Edison Headquarters, The Empire State Building and the cupola atop Smith were illuminated green.

Jaspers of Georgia

Bob Fink '57 and Tom McCarthy '06, director of alumni relations, will host the annual Atlanta-area luncheon for Manhattan College alumni, parents, family and friends. Guests will be joined by William Clyde, Ph.D., executive vice president and provost. The event takes place on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Cherokee Country Club (665 Hightower Trail, Atlanta, GA). The reception begins at 12:30 p.m. and the luncheon starts at 1 p.m. The cost is $30 per person. REGISTER»

Young Alumni Happy Hour

On Thursday, Feb. 28, the College invites young alumni to join us for happy hour at Public House (140 E. 41st St., between 3rd & Lexington avenues) near Grand Central Terminal. Relax after work and enjoy a premium open bar for $35 per person. Payment can be made to the hostess upon arrival (cash only, ATM on-site). Please note, open bar bracelets are optional, and drinks may also be purchased directly from the bar on a separate tab.

MAAC Basketball Tournament


The 2013 MAAC Championships will take place from March 7 - 11 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. Keep up with tournament information at http://maacachusetts.com, and details regarding an alumni reception to follow.

Staten Island Communion Breakfast
Join the Staten Island Regional Alumni Chapter for their annual Communion breakfast on Sunday, March 10. Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church (30 Manor Rd., Staten Island, NY). Breakfast will follow at 9 a.m. at the Kings Arms Diner (500 Forest Ave., Staten Island, NY).


The cost of the breakfast is $14. Please make checks out to "Manhattan College Alumni Club of Staten Island," and mail to 194 Crystal Ave, Staten Island, NY, 10302. Southwest Florida Spring Luncheon

On Sunday, March 10, join the College for a pre-luncheon reception at 11:30 a.m. at the home of Jim Connors '57 (3440 Lakemont Dr., Bonita Springs, FL.). A brunch buffet will follow at 1 p.m. at Pelican Nest Golf Club (4450 Pelicans Nest Dr., Bonita Springs, FL.). The cost for this event is $25 per person and advance registration is required. The Villages Alumni Reception
Join host Jack Lyons '62 for a luncheon reception in The Villages on Monday, March 11. The luncheon will be held at 12 p.m. at Amelia's Restaurant at The Waterfront Inn (1105 Waterfront Dr., The Villages, FL) and is $25 per person. Advance registration is required. REGISTER»


Winter Park/Orlando Alumni Luncheon
Join the College for a luncheon reception on Tuesday, March 12 at 12 p.m. at Tolla’s Café (240 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Winter Park, FL). The event will be hosted by Michael Kakos '58. Pre-Parade Gathering (Naples/Bonita Springs)
Southwest Florida alumni are invited back to the home of Jim Connors ’57 (3440 Lakemont Dr., Bonita Springs, FL) to enjoy a hot Irish dinner at his annual pre-parade gathering. The gathering will be held on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. and a $20 donation to support this event will be collected at Jim's home. St. Patrick's Day Parade (Naples)
Come march with other Jaspers in the 35th Naples St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 16. The group will meet at St. Ann's Church (475 9th Ave. S, Naples, FL) at 10:30 a.m. and step off at 11 a.m.

Washington D.C. St. Patrick's Day Alumni Reception
Join the College and alumni hosts Tony Kavanagh '82 and Elli Nesbitt '81 for an after-work gathering at James Hoban's Irish Restaurant & Bar (1 Dupont Circle NW, Washington D.C.) on Thursday, March 14 from 6 - 9 p.m. The event is $30 per person and includes a selection of hors d'oeuvres and finger foods as well as two drink tickets. Long Island St. Patrick's Day Luncheon

On Thursday, March 14 at 12 p.m., join fellow Jaspers for a wonderful afternoon of reminiscing, meeting and greeting, and networking at the annual Long Island St. Patrick's Day Luncheon, hosted by Tom Connolly '58. The luncheon will be held at The Inn at New Hyde Park (214 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY). The cost of the event is $35 and includes traditional Irish fare. NYC Pre-Parade Breakfast
On Saturday, March 16, join us for a special breakfast reception at Club Quarters Hotel (40 W. 45th St., between 5th & 6th avenues, New York, NY) from 10 - 11:30 a.m. before the parade steps off. Alumni and friends are welcome to attend for $35 per person and we are happy to offer a special student price of $20 per person. REGISTER»


NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade
All alumni, family and friends are invited to march in the largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world led by the Manhattan College Pipes and Drums and the Gaelic Society. Assembly will begin at 11:15 a.m. on West 45th St. between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Step off is around 12 p.m., and Manhattan will be the first group on the block. Marchers are required to purchase a sash available at the line of march for $5 from the Gaelic Society. For general information about the parade, visit nycstpatricksparade.org
