Texas Alumni Events

Texas area alumni, parents, family and friends are invited to join the College at one of our upcoming receptions. Guests will be joined by Tom McCarthy ’06, director of alumni relations. Dallas/Irving Alumni Reception
On Tuesday, Nov. 13, join us at La Cima Club on Top of Las Colinas (5215 N. O’Connor Blvd., Irving, TX) from 6–8 p.m. The reception will be hosted by Tom McCall ’72.


Austin Alumni Reception
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, visit Fado Irish Pub (214 W. 4th St., Austin, TX) and enjoy an evening with fellow Jaspers from 6–8 p.m.


Houston Alumni Reception
On Thursday, Nov. 15, attend a dinner hosted by Bruce Macklin ’74 at Maggiano’s Little Italy (2019 Post Oak Blvd., Houston, TX) from 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Jaspers of Arizona Dinner Reception
Thomas McCarthy ’06, director of alumni relations, and hosts Richard Brennan ’62, Bob Drake ’62 and Joe Genovese ’73, cordially invite Arizona alumni, parents, family and friends to join them for a fall dinner reception on Friday, Nov. 16 at Oakwood Country Club (24218 S. Oakwood Blvd., Sun Lakes, AZ). Cocktail reception will begin at 5 p.m. and dinner will be in the Poolside Café at 6 p.m. The event is $30 per person and advance registration is required. Pregame Alumni Reception: Manhattan v. Harvard (away)

On Friday, Nov.16, join other Jasper fans from 5–7 p.m. at Tommy Doyle’s (96 Winthrop St., Cambridge, MA) before Manhattan takes on Harvard at Lavietes Pavilion (65 N. Harvard St., Boston, MA). There is no charge for entry to the pregame get-together, and food and refreshments can be purchased directly from Tommy Doyle’s. New York City Alumni Club Fall Reception

On Wednesday, Nov. 28, the Alumni Relations office will host a special networking reception, “Why Thrillers Appeal to Us,” featuring author Michael Ledwidge ’92. Ledwidge is the author of three crime fiction novels and the co-author of eight worldwide bestselling thrillers written with James Patterson ’69. The reception will be held from 6–9 p.m. at Mutual of America (320 Park Ave., New York, NY). The cost is $40 per person ($25 for 2002-12 graduates) with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Admission includes a copy of Ledwidge’s recently published novel.


Gulf Coast Club Luncheon, Sarasota, FL

Reconnect with other Florida Jaspers on Friday, Nov. 30 at the Gulf Coast Luncheon in Sarasota, Fla. The luncheon, hosted by Neil O’Leary ’60, will be held at the University Park Country Club (7671 The Park Blvd., Sarasota, FL) at 12 p.m. The cost of the event is $25 per person. Track and Field Celebrates 100 Years

The Athletic department invites alumni and friends to celebrate the Manhattan College track and field program’s 100th anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 1. Join us for a reception to enjoy food and drinks with former teammates and program alumni at 2 p.m. in Dante’s Den (Thomas Hall).

Guests are welcome to cheer on the Jaspers at an indoor home meet in Draddy Gymnasium at 10 a.m. and will receive complimentary tickets (available upon request) to the afternoon women’s basketball game v. Pregame Alumni Brunch and BB&T Classic: Manhattan v. GWU

On Sunday, Dec. 2, attend a pregame brunch reception in our nation’s capital at Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant (808 7th St. NW, Washington, D.C.) before Manhattan takes on George Washington at the Verizon Center at this year’s BB&T Classic. The reception will be held from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. and is $35 per person. It includes a brunch buffet, refreshments and your choice of brunch beverage (Mimosa or Bloody Mary).

After brunch, alumni, family and friends are invited to watch Manhattan play GWU at the 17th annual BB&T Classic, and the tentative start-time of the game is 12:30 p.m. Maryland and George Mason will play in the second game of the double-header. South Jersey Alumni-Admissions Reception

Throughout the year, several alumni-admissions events are held in key recruitment areas for the College. On Thursday, Dec. 6 from 6–8 p.m., alumni are invited to share their Manhattan experiences with future Jaspers at Riverton Country Club (1416 Highland Ave., Cinnaminson, NJ) for the first joint reception of the 2012-13 academic year. Pregame Alumni Reception: Manhattan v. Marist (away)

On Friday, Dec. 7, Manhattan will take on the Red Foxes and alumni are invited to a pregame reception including hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. The event will be held in the Lowell Thomas Communication Center from 5–7 p.m. and is $35 per person.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular

On Friday, Dec. 7, join fellow College alumni for the Christmas Spectacular and get in the holiday spirit as Radio City (1260 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY) celebrates 85 years of The Rockettes! Tickets are $80 per person and will be located in the Orchestra level ($35 savings). The price of the ticket includes admission to the show and a voucher for popcorn and 20 ounce soda/water. Limited tickets are available and the show time is at 7 p.m.
