Last Chance To Take Advantage of New York Sports Club Corporate Discount


Join before Aug. 15 and pay $0 initiation fee (regularly $59). A one time $39 processing fee applies.

 

The Alumni Relations office is happy to announce a partnership with Town Sports International (parent company of New York Sports Club) to offer Manhattan College alumni a corporate membership discount of $74 a month for a one-year passport membership at any club, any time.
 
All classes are included, as well as a free fitness orientation with a personal trainer. Spouses/domestic partners and children over 14 are also eligible. The Sports Clubs Network offers more than 150 locations in the four major metropolitan areas in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, including New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. Construction Industry

 

Construction Industry Golf Wrap-Up
More than 120 golfers braved the summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms to participate in the 15th annual Construction Industry Golf Outing on July 23. This year's outing was held at Leewood Golf Club in Eastchester and included a welcome brunch, cocktail and dinner reception, and numerous awards and raffle prizes.

 

The tournament, founded by Joe Van Etten '57, raised $70,000 to benefit the civil engineering program. Thank you to all sponsors and attendees for your support and participation. New York Mets
On Wednesday, Aug. 8, come to Citi Field as the Mets face the Florida Marlins at 7:10 p.m. The cost of the loaded ticket is $75, which includes admission to the park and seating in the Shea Bridge Terrace (exclusively for Manhattan College alumni and guests), as well as $30 to use anywhere in the stadium (food, beverages, merchandise, etc.). New York Yankees

Later in the season, enjoy a private pregame reception with fellow Jaspers as the Yankees take on the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The cost of the event is $50 per person and includes admission to the park and access to the Malibu Rooftop Deck (exclusively for Manhattan College alumni and guests), all food and non-alcoholic beverages. A Day in The Hamptons

Alumni, friends and family living on or visiting Long Island on Saturday, Aug. 11 are invited to join the College for an afternoon cocktail reception at 3 p.m. on the East End at the Southampton Publick House (40 Bowden Square, Southampton, N.Y., 11968). The event, hosted by John Nason '52 and John Kirrane '78, will also include new chairman of the board of trustees, Ken Rathgeber '70. The cost per person is $45, and includes an open bar and a selection of hors d'oeuvres. REGISTER»

A Day at Monmouth Park Racetrack
The Jersey Shore Alumni Club invites you to join the College for a day at the races at the Monmouth Park Racetrack (175 Oceanport Ave., Oceanport, N.J., 07757) on Saturday, Aug. 18. The cost of the event is $35 per person and includes admission to the clubhouse, official track program, private trackside seating in the Turf Club (air-conditioned) and a buffet luncheon.

Reunion weekend

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival Presents Romeo & Juliet

On Wednesday, Aug. 22, alumni and guests are welcome to join the College at the breathtaking Boscobel grounds (1601 Route 9D, Garrison, N.Y., 10524) to experience Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers in a production of Romeo & Juliet. Enjoy a late summer evening and dine alfresco while overlooking the Hudson River and West Point. The play begins at 7 p.m., and the grounds open for picnicking two hours before the show. Manhattan's picnic, which includes sandwiches, hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, begins at 5:15 p.m.

Graduates from the last 10 years are invited to happy hour at McFadden's NYC (800 2nd Ave., New York, N.Y.) on Thursday, Sept. 6. Relax after work and enjoy an open bar for $25 from 6-8 p.m. including top shelf drinks and bottled beers. Help spread the word on Facebook.

 

Alumni Soccer Game
The Manhattan College men's soccer team will be holding an alumni game on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Gaelic Park at 1:30 p.m. After the game, players, parents and alumni will also gather for a picnic. 21st Annual Businessmen's Retreat
Alumni and friends are invited to attend this year's men's retreat at the Bishop Molloy Retreat House (86-45 Edgerton Ave., Jamaica Estates, N.Y., 11432) during the weekend of Sept. 14-16. With a slate of engaging speakers in a spiritual, garden-enclosed setting, attendees are encouraged to strengthen their faith and carry it with them when the workweek starts again on Monday. Great fellowship and new (or renewed) friendships are just some benefits of the weekend.

Washington D.C. Port City Brewery Tour & Tasting
The Alumni Club of Metro Washington D.C. is proud to announce its first event of the season. Join fellow alumni on Saturday, Sept. 29 for a private tasting and tour at Port City (3950 Wheeler Ave., Alexandria, Va., 23304), a new artisanal brewery. The event, hosted by Elli Nesbitt '81, will begin at 11 a.m. and the tasting and tour will run about two hours. The cost is $10 per person and includes a Port City souvenir tasting glass.
